John Korir and Sharon Lokedi successfully defended their Boston Marathon titles on April 20, 2026, according to the Boston Athletic Association’s race report. Korir finished in 2:01:52, setting a course record. Lokedi won the women’s race in 2:18:51. [1]

The men’s result moved the course benchmark below Geoffrey Mutai’s 2:03:02 from 2011. The organizer reported that runner-up Alphonce Felix Simbu and third-place Benson Kipruto also finished faster than that previous mark. A course record describes performance on this route; it should not be confused with a world-record claim. [1]

In the wheelchair races, Marcel Hug won in 1:16:06 and Eden Rainbow-Cooper in 1:30:51. The association described Hug’s result as his ninth Boston victory and Rainbow-Cooper’s as her second in three years. [1]

This archive brief summarizes the organizer’s dated results, rather than an account from a NewsTumble reporter at the race. The linked official report provides the fuller finish order and separate Para Athletics division results. [1]
