Nevada’s April 20 release described nearly 50,000 public Metrc cannabis-item records, including ingredients, allergens, potency, laboratory analyses and hold status. That was a dated count, not October inventory. [1]

An April 6 FAQ describes listings with sales in the preceding 180 days and says new receipts appear after a sale. It advises selecting Nevada and matching package identifiers to the lab report; a product name alone is insufficient. [2] [4]

An older bulletin scheduled a September 2024 rollout, so these announcements do not establish a first-ever opening in 2026. April’s release says results change with Metrc records; saved searches are not permanent clearance. [1] [3]

The record system is useful because it connects a public listing to a package identifier and its testing information. It is not a substitute for checking the label, the current listing, or a product’s hold status at the time of purchase.

The 180-day window also limits what a search can show. A product absent from the current results may have no recent recorded sale, while a listed item still requires the package-level match described in the FAQ.

For consumers, the safest reading is procedural: use the Nevada filter, compare the package identifier with the laboratory report, and treat the April count as historical context rather than a guarantee that any item remains available or cleared today.
