The NewsGuild of New York reported that unionized editorial staff at Forbes ratified a three-year first contract on September 1, 2026. It described a $68,500 wage floor and separation between editorial and business operations. [1]

A July 2021 union account recorded 67 votes for representation and seven against, followed by plans to bargain. It recorded workers’ priorities of pay equity, diversity and editorial integrity. Those were goals going into negotiations, rather than evidence that the eventual contract had already delivered them. [2]

The Guild also reported a one-year recall period for laid-off members and a pathway from temporary to full-time work. These are attributed provisions, not evidence that job losses or commercial influence on coverage ended. [1]
