GAO’s August 5, 2026 review identified 206 people with DOGE-related Executive Office of the President positions during January 20, 2025–January 31, 2026. That was a scoped reconstruction, not a count of everyone advancing DOGE initiatives. [1]

The January 2025 organizing order created a temporary unit within the U.S. DOGE Service. Its July 4, 2026 termination clause explicitly preserved other authority under the order; that date did not by itself end the broader service. [2]

EOP did not provide requested training records and financial disclosures. GAO therefore could not determine everyone’s completion status there. Missing evidence limits accountability; it does not establish that every person failed a requirement. [1]
