Alphabet’s October 28 unaudited results reported $127.6 billion revenue, up 25% year over year. Income available to common stockholders fell to $26.2 billion from $35.0 billion, despite higher operating income. [1]

The SEC’s older annual-report guide highlights accounting estimates and assumptions, which can affect assets, costs and net income. It also distinguishes company-prepared reports from SEC review: the regulator does not write or vouch for them. That is general reading context, rather than an audit of these quarterly results. [2]

Alphabet’s table shows other income and expense swinging from a $12.8 billion gain to an $8.2 billion loss, including investment revaluations. These quarterly figures do not establish future returns. [1]
