Google’s October 29 update puts file creation, previews and manual edits inside Gemini chats. PDFs work on web and mobile; Docs, Sheets, slide decks, Markdown, text and code are web-only. Google says availability covers all users and supported languages. [1]

That editing surface does not erase upload constraints. Google’s guide permits up to ten files per prompt, subject to availability, and generally 100 MB per non-video file. It warns that oversized inputs can miss connections or details; rolling analysis limits still apply. [2]

On personal accounts, Google uses chats and uploads for service improvement with human review when Keep Activity is on. With it off, new chats remain for 72 hours and safety review can continue. Reviewed feedback may remain up to three years. Work and school terms can differ. [3]
