The Manzanar Committee’s February 9 plan paired the April 25 pilgrimage with an evening discussion at Lone Pine High School. Both programmes were announced as free; first-come bus reservations included complimentary rides for former U.S. wartime camp incarcerees. [1]

NPS’s cemetery history traces organised pilgrimage to 1969, after ministers began returning in 1946 to honour the dead. It credits Sue Kunitomi Embrey with organising for 37 years and working to preserve the site. That history connects a public ceremony with sustained efforts to transmit incarceration experiences. [2]

The committee’s May 16 post listed three YouTube recordings from April 25. That follow-through left a record beyond the initial invitation. The April programme and transport offers were historical; the recordings were linked for people who missed the day. [3]
