A May 8 notice planned July 3–5, 2026 celebrations of Valley Forge’s fifty years as a national park and the nation’s 250th anniversary. Temporary exhibitions and a storytelling firepit placed interpretation alongside demonstrations. An announced activity is not a verified outcome. [1]

There was no battle at Valley Forge. The 1777–78 encampment brought together soldiers, women, children, enslaved people and local communities. The park’s history describes disease and provisioning alongside military training. Commemoration therefore concerns a working, contested settlement rather than a single battlefield victory. [2]

The July plan proposed shuttles and ride-hailing zones, with Washington’s Headquarters access limited during Isaac Potts House restoration. Those July access plans do not establish current transport or closures. [1]
