ZOLIQUEX recall connects bed-rail fit with entrapment testing
April’s recall covered a specific model; the safety standard addresses gaps between rails and mattresses.

CPSC’s April 16, 2026 recall covered about 16,000 ZOLIQUEX adult portable bed rails sold on Amazon. It identified entrapment and asphyxiation hazards and missing warning labels. No incidents or injuries were reported for this recall. [1]
The model, ZEX014-V1, and Zoliquex name appeared on packaging. CPSC listed sales from August 2023 through February 2026 for about $43. Owners were told to stop use and seek a full refund: cut the black safety strap, mark the upper and lower rails as recalled, then email a photograph with their name to ZEXnaturemedical@outlook.com, the contact published by CPSC. The hazard has a longer history. CPSC’s July 2023 final rule identified 284 fatal entrapment incidents across adult portable bed rails during 2003–2021. That category-wide total is not a death count for this model. The rule took effect August 21, 2023. [2]
Testing addresses the rail and mattress together. The rule describes four entrapment zones, a shaped probe and applied force for some tests. Labels must identify compatible beds and mattresses, thickness ranges and placement relative to headboards or footboards. Sturdiness alone does not establish safe fit. [2]
The recall specifies a remedy, not evidence that owners obtained refunds or suitable replacement assistance. Product identification and the published refund procedure are concrete next steps; this review did not test the company’s response. [1]
