USPS dedicated its second Diwali stamp on October 21 in Washington, a decade after its first. The issue precedes November 8, the festival’s main day in 2026; the dedication and the holiday are separate dates. [1]
Artist Sangita Bhutada enlarged a rangoli to eight feet for photography by Bijay Dixit. USPS says the work took eight to ten days. Turning a temporary floor design into a stamp preserves one composition beyond the home where such art is made. [1]
The mailing function is concrete. The current postal manual values an ordinary Forever stamp at the single-piece, one-ounce First-Class letter price. It distinguishes additional-ounce and postcard categories and requires enough postage for the actual service. A commemorative design does not remove those mailing distinctions. [2]
