Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park’s July 23, 2026 announcement planned a free Junior Ranger Day for July 30, with community-led activities and a group swearing-in. It also directed families to the activity center in Skagway’s historic Pantheon building. [1]
The park’s badge guide, updated July 28, described a separate at-home route. Participants could download the activity book and return completed work in person, by email or by mail. Adults could participate too; older participants needed more activity “gold nuggets” to earn a badge. [2]
An earlier NPS history page explains the building’s reuse: its exterior was restored to its 1903–1916 saloon appearance, while the interior was rehabilitated for compatible uses. That distinction connects the learning program with stewardship of a historic structure, rather than presenting the family day as the only way into the park’s history. [3]
