Las Vegas announced August 3, 2026 that registration was open for its Safekey program for kindergarten through fifth grade. The release described before- and after-school enrichment at 71 elementary schools within city limits, timed around the district’s August 10 start. It was an announcement of arrangements, not a count of children who enrolled. [1]
The listed annual registration charge was $25 per participant per account, with daily prices of $7 before school and $10 afterward. Online registration and payment were available, while cash, checks and money orders could be taken at the city’s Customer Care Center. Participation required enrollment and payment for each specific attendance date. [1]
Safekey accepted employer childcare-reimbursement forms and subsidy certificates from named providers, including Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada and Moapa Band of Paiutes Tribal Childcare. Certificates required Safekey office processing before discounts applied. Activities included fitness, STEAM, literacy, homework time and an afternoon snack. The program followed the district calendar and operated on days with in-person instruction. [1]
