Las Vegas’s September 18 notice scheduled a Commerce Street closure south of Charleston Boulevard for September 21–October 19, while crews installed underground box culverts. That advertised window has passed; it was not the wider project’s completion date. [1]

The notice estimated $49 million for the drainage work and targeted completion by the end of 2027. City, regional transportation and flood-control funding connects a local disruption to a longer infrastructure investment. [1]

The city’s current project page describes a mile of storm drain to reduce flooding, alongside sewer and water infrastructure, signals, medians and pavement. One intersection’s culvert installation is only part of that scope. [2]

That page offers project-update subscriptions and describes continuing lane restrictions with pedestrian and business access maintained. It does not establish that the September detour ended on schedule; current restrictions need checking. [2]
