Las Vegas’s October 12 notice seeks an ice hockey developer for roughly five city-owned acres at 10257 W. Deer Springs Way, alongside the 215 Beltway. [1]

The request pairs about five owned acres with five planned acquisition acres; 12.5 more are conditional on negotiations and land rights. [2]

Proposers need community-access and ten-year operating plans, addressing energy, refrigerants and water conservation. Mixed-use revenue is intended to support rink finances. [2]

University of Illinois guidance describes linked energy demands: refrigeration maintains the ice, while heating, ventilation and dehumidification condition occupied areas. Recovered refrigeration heat can warm resurfacing water. Controls that lower compressor head pressure can reduce that heat recovery, so reducing one load can change another system’s economics. [3]

Submissions close December 17, 2026, 5 p.m. PST. Land terms and approvals remain separate; the city can reject all proposals. [2]
