Jamaica won Gaborone’s May 3, 2026 mixed 4x100m final in 39.62 seconds with man–woman–man–woman order. World Athletics’ report marked the record as subject to ratification. [1]

Guangzhou’s 2025 guide described a woman–woman–man–man order and called that race a global debut. It scheduled official record recognition from January 1, 2026, with the inaugural record needing to beat the 2025 world best. A world best and a recognised world record were separate categories. [2]

The top six final teams earned automatic Budapest Ultimate places, while all eight finalists had already qualified for Beijing 2027 in the heats. Sunday’s additional round advanced four more teams. [1]
