Tampa Bay beat Boston 6–5 in a shootout. [1]
The league’s pregame media guide specified two refrigeration units and dehumidification inside a temporary structure. An opaque roof was designed to reflect sunlight. Planned ice thickness was 2.5–3 inches, against a typical indoor 1.5 inches, giving crews a weather margin. The structure was scheduled for removal before play. [2]
Rule 84.4 adds one goal to the winning team’s score after a shootout, without adding that goal to the shooter’s individual total. After a shootout, the winner receives two standings points and the loser one. Team score, personal statistics and league points therefore describe different things, even at an unusual venue. [3]
