The remedy targets carafe damage.

CPSC’s October 29, 2026 recall covers 5.9 million Bodum presses with replaceable glass carafes. Metal utensils can damage the glass, risking breakage; Bodum reported 48 burns. The reports do not measure an injury rate. [1]
Request the plastic-spoon and warning-label kit. Stop using metal utensils and damaged carafes; match the notice’s eight- or twelve-cup model descriptions and markings. [1]
The brand name alone cannot identify the remedy. An April 2019 notice concerned a stainless-steel CHAMBORD stovetop espresso maker whose handle could ignite, with a refund remedy. That was a different product and failure mechanism. [2]
A separate May 2019 notice covered co-branded Starbucks presses with a breakable plunger knob and a store-credit refund process. Comparing the exact product and failed component keeps an older recall’s instructions from being mistaken for the new glass-carafe action. [3]
