A better New Products Showcase visit starts with a short list of questions

Turn a first look at an aftermarket product into a useful comparison by checking fitment, availability and support before the sales conversation ends.

The 2026 body of SEMA’s show-features preview places the New Products Showcase in Lower South Hall, booth 41271, near main registration. It announces a 7:30 a.m. opening and describes app-based product scanning to help visitors find the corresponding exhibitor. Confirm current access arrangements and the map before arriving early. [1]

For a small shop, an efficient visit can begin with a shortlist rather than a purchase decision. Choose a few customer problems you want to solve, then collect enough information to decide which exhibitors deserve a longer conversation. The official exhibitor directory is a starting point for matching a product with a company and booth. [2]

NewsTumble’s suggested comparison sheet:

Exact fitment: record model years, trims, required companion parts and any explicit exclusions.

Availability: distinguish an orderable item from a prototype, announced release or waiting list. Ask for the date behind a delivery estimate.

Installed cost: list the part, accessories, labor, training and ongoing charges separately. A display price may not describe the complete job.

Support: identify documentation, warranty contact, replacement parts and the process for handling an installation problem.

Evidence: retain the specification sheet and link behind a performance claim. Ask what was measured and under what conditions.

These are editorial evaluation prompts, not claims that a particular exhibitor has a problem. They help make competing products easier to compare once the show-floor excitement fades.

A useful follow-up story would revisit the shortlist after the show: which items reached customers, which estimates changed and what documentation became available? That requires new verification. This preview does not rank products, identify award winners or imply NewsTumble has tested anything on display.
